# sk117574 - R80 Management HA shows an inconsistent status between both members

| Property | Value |
|----------|-------|
| Solution ID | sk117574 |
| Date Created | 2017-06-03 |
| Last Modified | 2017-06-05 |
| Technical Level | Advanced |
| Products | Security Management Server |
| Versions | R82.10, R82, R81.20, R82.20 |
| OS | Gaia |

## Symptoms

- * When user moves current active R80 Security Management to "Standby" state, the machine moves to "Standby", but the other Management Server still shows "Standby" and the peer as "Active" as before, from the High Availability Console window.
* High Availability status of both members are correctly showing "Active" and "Standby" status from both Smart Console.

## Cause

When user moves current "Standby" machine to "Active" state, the machine that was previously "Active" moves by design to "Standby" state automatically.

When user moves currently "Active" machine to be "Standby" the connection between currently two machines in "Standby" state is terminated and after some time shows "Unknown". By design one member needs to be manually forced to "Active" status to keep the sync of the status.
