## Symptoms

- Relevant "user.def" file was modified on the Security Management Server / Domain Management Server per [sk98239](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk98239), but after policy installation, custom configuration does not take effect on the Security Gateway.

## Cause

*$FWDIR/conf/user.def* file exists on the Security Management Server / Domain Management Server.

This file should not exist in $FWDIR/conf on the Management Server.
