# sk116593 - "Files exceeded maximum files allowed (500)" log from Threat Emulation blade for archive files

## Symptoms

- * "Description:Files exceeded maximum files allowed (500)" log from Threat Emulation blade.
* `$FWDIR/log/ted.elg` file shows:

  ```
  #[TE_TRACE]: {XXXXXX} Archive extraction partially failed, files may be damaged or encrypted
  #[TE (TD::Important)] te::EventProfile::UpdateCombinedVerdict: {XXXXXX} prev: Error new: Error, combined: Error
  ```

## Cause

The maximum allowed files in an archive file is 500. If this limit is exceeded (Archive has more than the limit). The fail-mode policy will apply.

## Solution

The 500 limit is an optimized value. It is not recommended to increase this value as it will cause performance degradations.
