# sk116223 - Neighboring Cisco routers in PIM Sparse-Dense mode do not receive PIM Auto-RP messages from Gaia OS machine

## Symptoms

- * Neighboring Cisco routers that are configured in PIM Sparse-Dense mode with Auto RP do not receive PIM Auto-RP messages from Gaia OS machine that is configured in PIM Sparse Mode.

* Even though Gaia OS machine is the DR for the Auto RP groups, there is no downstream receiver on Gaia OS machine.

## Cause

While running PIM in Sparse Mode (SM), Gaia OS has neither a Rendezvous Point (RP), nor a downstream receiver for the Auto RP groups.
