# sk115866 - Threat Emulation exceptions do not work when gateway is set to "Detect Only"

## Symptoms

* Exceptions that are made in the Threat Prevention Policy, do not take affect.

## Cause

Exceptions to the Threat Prevention Policy will not work when the gateway is set to '***Detect Only*** .'  

This can be checked by performing the following kernel debug:  

#fw ctl dlpk + all \[recommended to be run in maintenance window\]  

dlpk_cmi_AV_update_session_initiators_with_execeptions: \[ERROR\]: te global detect mode is on, not running exceptions ;
