## Symptoms

- "Session Table is full. Use tuning to increase table size." logs on DDoS Protector.

## Cause

The Session Table is the table that records the sessions information and is used in the following situations:

* To achieve full DDoS Protector performance. The Session Table is an important component of the distribution processing architecture. This architecture is based on a master CPU that takes one decision in each session and dedicates network processors for layer 4-7 acceleration. Without the session being recorded in the Session Table, the network processors cannot be activated for this session and the master CPU has to process all the packets in the session.
* To support Stateful features for traffic, such as SYN Protection and Stateful Inspection.
* When bandwidth management L7 policies are applied to traffic running through the device.

**This error message means that the Session Table is full and new sessions cannot be handled until the table size is increased, or until the table is emptied.**
