# sk115720 - Domain and CLM license are not activated

## Symptoms

- Domain Log Server / Customer Log Module (CLM) or Domain Management server / CMA shows the 15-day trial license in SmartUpdate after installing a permanent license on MDS.

## Cause

In all software versions, the 15-day trial is only disabled visually when a permanent license is attached directly to the network object; however, with the new Next Generation Security Management (NGSM) products, the Domain (CMA) and Customer Log Module (CLM) licenses are only attached to the Multi-Domain Management server (MDS) object by design. As a result, the trial flag on the CMA or CLM level are not disabled and will still be displayed.

***Note: the above behavior also occurs when using legacy NGX licenses on an MLM server.***
