## Symptoms

- * "Can't identify disk." error when run Opal Tool to verify if Check Point FDE Blade supports SED (Self Encrypting Drives).
* When looking at a *scan_log.txt* from a cpinfo pre-boot of the machine, you see that the SED is in NVMe form:
  Disk geometry (PhysicalDrive 0):
  Vendor: NVMe
  Product: CX2-8B256-Q11 NV (revision 4881)
  Serial number: TW09F8D15508567M036V
  Bus type: RAID bus
Disk size: 238 GiB (256060514304 bytes, 500118192 sectors)
  BytesPerSector: 512
  MediaType: Fixed media
* When FDE Blade tries to initialize and take ownership of the NVMe SED, *FDE_srv.exe* service crashes and creates dumps:

## Cause

NVMe+SED and/or NVMe(M.2)+SED are not currently supported when using the built-in encryption.

## Solution

Upgrade to the [E80.81 Endpoint Security Client](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk123051&partition=Basic&product=Endpoint) or [newer](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk117536&partition=Basic&product=Endpoint) to support NVMe+SED or NVMe(M.2)+SED SSDs.
