# sk115420 - Gaia OS on 21000 appliance with SAM card becomes unresponsive when trying to delete a VLAN interface after passing multicast traffic through that VLAN interface

## Symptoms

- Gaia OS on 21000 appliance with SAM card becomes unresponsive in the following scenario:

1. Create VLAN interfaces and enable PIM on them
2. Enable SAM card on the corresponding physical interfaces
3. Reboot the appliance
4. Run multicast traffic for a little while through VLAN interfaces
5. Stop the multicast traffic
6. Let the multicast connections expire
7. Try to remove the VLAN interfaces (either in Gaia Portal, or Gaia Clish; For VSX object - in SmartDashboard)
8. Gaia OS becomes unresponsive (not possible to connect to the Gaia Portal anymore)
9. The following message appears repeatedly on the console:  
   `unregister_netdevice: waiting for ethX-YYY.NN to become free. Usage count = 1`
