# sk115395 - Cable and Transceiver issues with  2 Port 40G Base-F QSFP interface card  CPAC-2-40F-B

## Symptoms

- * 40G BiDi transceiver is not recognized by 2 Port 40G Base-F QSFP interface card.
* 40G long range transceiver is not recognized by 2 Port 40G Base-F QSFP interface card.
* User is unable to establish link with valid, configured interfaces when using BiDi transceivers and 2 Port 40GBase-F QSFP interface card.
* 40G DAC cables not recognized by 2 Port 40GBase-F QSFP interface card

## Cause

40G BiDi transceivers and DAC cables have been added to the product catalog for the 2-Port 40G Base-F QSFP interface card for 5000, 15000 and 23000 Appliances.

Some early Interface Cards (shipped prior to the availability of BiDi transceivers) have Firmware version 12.12.3072. This Firmware version is not compatible with the new BiDi transceivers. The minimum Firmware version which is compatible with BiDi transceivers is 12.17.1026.
