# sk115106 - Interface on VSX Cluster member that was defined in $FWDIR/conf/discntd.if file is assigned an IP address from Internal Communication Network after reboot

## Symptoms

- If an interface on VSX Cluster member is defined in the *$FWDIR/conf/discntd.if* file, then after reboot, output of "`ifconfig`" shows that instead of the IP address configured in SmartDashboard, this interface is assigned an IP address that belongs to Cluster Members Internal Communication Network (known as "Funny IP"; in VSX Cluster object, go to "Cluster Members" pane).

## Cause

By design, defining an interface on VSX Cluster member as Disconnected using the *$FWDIR/conf/discntd.if* file removes the translation from the Internal Communication Network address to the IP address that was configured in SmartDashboard.
