# sk114798 - "wrong user name or password" error when LDAP remote access users unable to connect (LDAP server using SSL)

## Symptoms

- * "wrong user name or password" error when LDAP remote access users unable to connect (LDAP server using SSL).
* Ldapsearch from the gateway succeeds.
* *vpnd* logs show:  
  ld_io_handler: ldap_async: SSL finger print does not match  
  server = , Connect result = Failed to bind  
  Set to down  
  Updated server connection statistics object:1.3.1.3, with new status:down  
  server = , SDK Response

## Cause

When gateway tries to perform lookup for the remote access user, it is configured to do it over SSL, and verify fingerprint of certificate provided by LDAP-server during SSL-negotiation.

SSL fingerprint set in LDAP server settings was changed / does not match the one received from the server.
