## Symptoms

- * On the Check Point Security Gateway/Security Management/Multi-Domain Server, user is able to log in via Console and Gaia Portal with TACACS authentication, but when trying to log in via SSH using TACACS the user receives - "access denied".
* When attempting to login via SSH - no traffic is seen leaving the Check Point appliance to the TACACS Server.
* /var/log/messages show:
  `sshd[PID]: User <username> from <host ip> not allowed because none of user's groups are listed in AllowGroups`
  `
  sshd[PID2]: input_userauth_request: invalid user <username>`
  `
  sshd[PID]: error: Could not get shadow information for NOUSER`
  `
  sshd[PID]: Failed password for invalid user <username> from <host ip> port 51658 ssh2`
* Viewing the `/etc/ssh/sshd_config` file shows an older version, eg.: sshd_config,v 1.59
* The machine was upgraded from Splat to Gaia.

## Cause

When the appliance is upgraded from SecurePlatform to Gaia, the "sshd_config" file should be replaced, and in rare instances this process does not happen.
