# sk114557 - Critical Device "Synchronization" always reports its state as "problem" on Virtual Systems in "Backup" state in VSX VSLS cluster

## Symptoms

- Output of "`cphaprob list`" on VSX VSLS cluster members shows that Critical Device "Synchronization" always reports its state as "problem" on Virtual Systems in "Backup" state.
*Example* :

```

## Cause

By design, Virtual Systems is "Backup" state should not participate in cluster state synchronization. Therefore, on Virtual Systems in "Backup" state the state synchronization is disabled. As a result, Critical Device "Synchronization" always reports its state as "problem".
