## Symptoms

- * Changing the SmartEvent database max size on the SmartEvent GUI ((SmartEvent \> Policy tab \> database maintenance \> set maximum database size to) does not take effect. The max size remains as the old value.
* The max size on GUIdbEdit under SmartEvent \> abacus_db_mgmt \> db_mgmt_properties \> max size is similar to the new size

## Cause

The actual free space in the SmartEvent server /var/log directory is lower than the free_size_threshold value.

For example, the free_size_threshold is (15) - it means that 15% of total disk space should be free but the free size under /var/log is 10%.
