# sk113493 - FDE Preboot password reverted to the old password

## Symptoms

- * FDE Preboot password reverted to the old password.
* In the C:\\ProgramData\\CheckPoint\\Endpoint Security\\Full Disk Encryption\\dlog1.txt we can see the following:  
  `
  lsass.exe:10a8 UserAcquisition User XXX should not be acquired`  
  `
  lsass.exe:10a8 PwdSync The passwords are already equal; no need to synchronize.`  
  `
  lsass.exe:20dc UserAcquisition User XXX should not be acquired`  
  `
  lsass.exe:20dc [pwd sync] Your FDE password could not be synchronized`  
  `
  lsass.exe:20dc [pwd sync] The password contains the following errors:`  
  `
  lsass.exe:20dc [pwd sync] * The password is in the history database and cannot be reused yet.`

## Cause

After the Windows password has been changed the AD scanner detects a change in the AD user object.

If this change is populated to the Endpoint Security Client through policy before the client has sent up the new FDE credentials, the client will receive the old credentials from the server.
