# sk112914 - Cannot change R80 Security Management Server name from SmartConsole

## Symptoms

- When changing the R80 Security Management server object name in SmartConsole, it reports:  
`"please detach licenses first"`, however detaching license does not help.

## Solution

This problem was fixed. The fix is included in:

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.  
For faster resolution and verification, please collect [CPinfo files](http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/solutions?id=sk92739) from the Security Management Server and Security Gateways involved in the case.

**Instructions**

After applying the hot fix reboot the Security Management server and follow these steps to change the Security Management object name from SmartConsole:

1. Change hostname from Gaia clish  
   `> set hostname`
2. Save config from clish:  
   `> save config`
3. Open R80 SmartConsole  

4. Open the object to test/ensure that it opens - once open close object
5. Open 'licenses and packages' management from the R80 drop down menu.
6. Detach the license from the R80 Security Management object
7. Close the R80 SmartUpdate  

8. Open the R80 Security Management object from SmartConsole - it should still be open - Change the name of the Security Management object. 9. Close the object.
10. Publish the saved draft.
11. Open 'licenses and packages' management from the R80 drop down menu and attach license to the renamed R80 Security Management server object - make sure that the name is changed.
12. Close R80 SmartUpdate and ensure that the license was attached correct and that the new name is seen.
