## Symptoms

- * The `fw_full` process consumes high CPU.
* The `/var/log/messages file is filled with traffic related logs:`
  `

  ``[DATE TIME] drop x.x.x.x eth1 useralert3 rule: 197 rule_uid: {7275AFDC-6BEC-4707-ADB3-48B34B85BB36} src: x.x.x.x dst: y.y.y.y proto: tcp product: VPN-1 FireWall-1 service: 10123 s_port: 52236 product_family: Network`

## Cause

The *fw log* process has been set to mirror log traffic to the messages file.

This is generating a lot more CPU usage, but cannot be seen in *top,* as it is related to the *fw_full* logging process.
