# sk112655 - SmartDashboard cannot connect to server, FWM process core dumps

## Symptoms

- * Security Management server does not respond until FWM is not killed brutally.   

* SmartDashboard is able to connect after running `cpstop` and `cpstart` on the Security Management server.  

* SmartDashboard is unable to connect to the Security Management server.

  "`Connection cannot be initiated. Make sure that the Server '<Security Management IP address>' is up and running`" error message is displayed when attempting to log in to SmartDashboard.
* cpwd.elg shows:  

  ```
  
  [cpWatchDog PID]@Gateway...Stop command "fw kill fwm" of Process FWM (pid=3412) succeeded. Exit code 0.
  [cpWatchDog PID]@Gateway...[INFO] Stop Process FWM with command fw kill fwm timed out. Attempting to terminate process
  [cpWatchDog PID]@Gateway...[ERROR] Failed to send a signal
  : No such process
  [cpWatchDog PID]@Gateway...[ERROR] wd_put_response: Failed on sending signal to process 27029: No such process
  [cpWatchDog PID]@Gateway...[SUCCESS] Process FWM terminated
  ```
