## Symptoms

- * Unable to ping the CLusterXL IPv6 VIP.
* The IPv6 interface of the Active member responds 8 times and times out 6 times. The ipv6 interface of the Standby cluster member has no problems processing the ping6 and replies all the time.

## Cause

There is no possibility to define IPv6 only on any interface of the ClusterXL. You must define a corresponding IPv4 address for every IPv6 address

Please refer to [R77 ClusterXL Administration Guide](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R77/CP_R77_ClusterXL_WebAdminGuide/html_frameset.htm) for more information about configuration of IPv6 on Cluster interfaces
