## Symptoms

- * Disclaimer/mail signature is not added to emails when email body is encoded with base64.
* Debug of `$FWDIR/bin/in.emaild.mta` daemon (`fw debug in.emaild.mta on TDERROR_ALL_ALL=5`) shows in `$FWDIR/log/emaild.mta.elg*`:

  ```
  MIME_headers.c:xxxx:MIMEH_headers_process:DEBUG: Processing 'Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
  mime_alter.c:xxxx:AM_insert_disclaimer_into_segment:DEBUG: Conditions not right to insert HTML disclaimer
  mime_alter.c:xxxx:AM_insert_disclaimer_into_segment:DEBUG: Conditions not right to insert a TEXT disclaimer
  email_policy_scrub_scan_finished: Failed to add disclaimer, continue anyway
  ```

## Cause

Addition of disclaimer into base64 encoded segments is not supported in systems that are not running the Mail Transfer Agent Update packages (sk123174).

For support of this functionality, installing the MTA Update is necessary and follow [sk175093: Missing MTA signatures and banners](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk175093&partition=Advanced&product=Harmony)
