## Symptoms

- "`Permission denied`" error when RADIUS / TACACS+ user tries to login to Expert mode on Gaia OS, although this RADIUS / TACACS+ user role is defined with UID 0 and group 0.

Example:

`/opt/CPcvpn-R77/scripts/CVPNprofile.sh: Permission denied`

## Cause

The username of RADIUS / TACACS+ user is identical to an existing local username defined on Gaia OS.

Such configuration is not supported (quote from [R77 Gaia Administration Guide](http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/documentation_download?id=24828) - Chapter "User Management":
"`Do not define a new user for external users. An external user is one that is defined on an authentication server (such as RADIUS or TACACS) and not on the local Gaia system.`").
