## Solution

SMB appliances support SD cards of type SD-HC (up to 32GB).

Support ext4 as a default SD-card file system in [R77.20.85](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk140193&partition=General&product=Small) and above and FAT32 to earlier versions.

Deployment/Upgrade with SD card is only supported for the 1200R and 1400 appliances.

SD Card Logging Feature:

* When you insert an SD card, on a configured appliance, it mounts automatically and then local logs are saved to it.
* Up to 16GB of logs will be saved on the SD card, even if the card is 32GB in size.
* Before you eject an SD card, make sure to unmount it.
  * Select Options \> Eject SD card safely, from the Logging Tab of the Web UI.
