# sk111572 - Authentication on Gaia OS from console with local user fails (times out) while two RADIUS servers are configured

## Symptoms

- * Authentication on Gaia OS from console with local user fails (times out) while two RADIUS servers are configured.

* When only one RADIUS server (any one of the two) is configured, authentication on Gaia OS from console with local user succeeds, but after a long time.

## Cause

RADIUS authentication has priority over local authentication. Gaia OS is not able to connect to any of the configured RADIUS servers (e.g., when the relevant interface is down). As a result, local authentication times out.
