# sk111308 - "Error 27117. Encrypted volumes found. Uninstall can not be initiated due to problems with service communication. The service isn't running but there are still encrypted partitions." and cannot uninstall Endpoint Security Client

## Symptoms

- "Error 27117. Encrypted volumes found. Uninstall can not be initiated due to problems with service communication. The service isn't running but there are still encrypted partitions." and cannot uninstall Endpoint Security Client

## Cause

There are still encrypted partitions.

## Solution

Create Recovery Media for the client, as per the "Full Disk Encryption Recovery" section in the [Endpoint Security Management Server E80.60 on R77 Management Administration Guide](http://downloads.checkpoint.com/dc/download.htm?ID=36183). OR refer sk161833.

1. Create Data Recovery Media.
2. Boot up the computer with the Recovery Media to decrypt.
3. After decrypting you should be able to uninstall the software.
