# sk111155 - FWM process consumes CPU at high level

## Symptoms

- * FWM process consumes high CPU
* Output of "pstack" script shows the following stack:

* Increasing the CPMI buffers per [sk109236](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk109236) did not solve the issue

## Cause

***contract_stat*** binary runs every 6 hours and sends requests to fwm process , which causes fwm to consume high CPU and become unresponsive while it is processing the cp.contract file .

The load will be heavier on Security Management Server which manage large number of Security Gateways, and on Multi Domain Servers that have a large number of Domain Management Servers.
