# sk111135 - VPN IKE/IPSec logs missing from logging systems

## Symptoms

- * IKE/IPSec logs are not seen in the logging systems.
* VPND: "vpn_crypt_log: CplogClientSendLogEx failed"
* VPND: "Failed to connect to FWD (log connection)."
* Debugging the initialization of *fwd* and *vpnd* processes shows: cplog_localtcpip: found port 1024  
  Failed to connect to FWD (log connection).  
  fw_getaddrinfo: failed for address localhost service 1024 : Name or service not known

## Cause

Failing to locate the address of *localhost port 1024* , due to the following entries missing from the *hosts*file.

*127.0.0.1 localhost*   
*::1 localhost*
