## Symptoms

- * Hosts file's (/etc/hosts) configuration changes back to default after a reboot but survives a cpstop/cpstart.
* Local host name/ip address info is lost from etc/hosts file after a reboot.
* Sudden connectivity problems with relevant host after a reboot.
* Various communication problems between cluster members and between Security Gateways to Security Management Server and Internal clients.
* Sudden cluster problems: 'HA Module not started' is shown when issuing a 'cphaprob stat'
* Sudden Cluster problems: ClusterXL shows secondary member as 'Active Attention' from working members perspective.

## Cause

Gaia Operating System is failing to associate the hostname with the device's IP address.
