# sk110429 - FDE Preboot and OS password sync issue

## Symptoms

- * When OS password is changed, and after reboot, see error "password update failed".
* In the *dlog1.log* you see: "DAFCommunication Received policy with outdated timestamp, will not save."

## Cause

To have FDE SSO and password sync work, the **FDE security packages** have to be installed and configured. If this configuration is restored to Windows original, then SSO and password-sync will stop working.

Check that the files are in the correct place and that the registry setting is correct.
