# sk109940 - CPD daemon consumes CPU at high level and exits periodically.

## Symptoms

- * Output of "*top* " / "*ps auxw*" commands on VSX Gateway shows that CPD process consumes CPU at high level.

* After enabling generation of core dump files per [sk92764](http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/solutions?id=sk92764), core dump files for '*CPD* ' process could be generated in the */var/log/dump/usermode/* directory.

* Output of "*pstack* " script shows the following stack (refer to [sk98348](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk98348#Advanced diagnostics - CPU) - section "*(5-1) Advanced diagnostics - CPU* " - command "*3. sh pstack_sym.sh ...*"):

## Cause

While CPD daemon starts , it gets into an infinite loop while trying to load SmartView Monitor history data.
