# sk109801 - Security Gateway becomes unresponsive and memory consumption increases when HTTP traffic passes through

## Symptoms

- * Security Gateway becomes unresponsive when HTTP traffic passes through it.

* SmartView Monitor shows high memory consumption on Security Gateway.

* "`out_of_memory: trying to free memory using oom_notify_list`" error appears in */var/log/messages* file.

## Cause

* HTTP traffic is not compliant with RFC.
* Length of HTTP method field in the HTTP header and/or length of entire HTTP header are sufficiently long to have adverse performance impact on gateway CPU and memory resources.
