## Symptoms

- *$FWDIR/log/ted.elg* file on Threat Emulation Gateway shows the following message:  
`DELIVERY FAILURE: Error transferring to GAPAR017/SRV/SOCGEN mail.box; Maximumhop
count exceeded. Message probably in a routing loop.`

## Cause

Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) is configured as outgoing mail relay.

Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) can be configured on the Check Point Security Gateway only as an incoming relay (as shown below).
