# sk109224 - "CPUSE requires a valid license for download and updates" error when establishing connection with CPUSE cloud servers

## Symptoms

- * When connecting to Check Point cloud via CPUSE, the following errors are shown in the GUI:   

  * `CPUSE requires a valid license for downloads and updates. The trail license active will expire on <DD_Month_Year HH_MM_SS>`
  `
  `
  * `Cannot connect to the Check Point Cloud - the administrator did not authorize downloads. For more information refer to sk94508`

* "`Your currently installed license is not entitled to receive updates from Check Point download center. Contact Check Point Account Services for Assistance.` error in the WebUI.

## Cause

If the administrator did not authorize downloads, then the license is not checked at all. CPUSE does not connect to the cloud unless the administrator enabled the downloads checkbox, so it cannot get new data for the license - this is why the license error message is shown.
