## Symptoms

- * SmartLog logs show the wrong hostname for an IP address that was re-assigned by a DHCP Server.

* SmartView Tracker logs show the correct hostname (corresponding to the user).

## Cause

SmartLog maintains an internal cache of IP addresses and the corresponding hostnames. When a DHCP server re-assigns an IP address, in the internal cache this new IP address is allocated to a new hostname. As a result, a mismatch in SmartLog might occur.
