## Solution

### Important Notes

* The HP ProLiant DL360/DL380 Gen9 + Gen 10 does not detect all USB devices, including different USB flash drives (regardless of content). This is **not** a software issue. If a bootable USB device (with Check Point's Gaia, CentOS, or any other OS) is not recognized by this server, try a different USB device vendor, or install the server through DVD.
* **Before** installing Gaia OS on HP ProLiant Gen9 and Gen10 servers, make sure that Gaia OS supports your model, RAID controller, and network cards. To do this, see the [Hardware Compatibility List](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/hcl/#os).

### For HP ProLiant Gen9 Servers

> 1. Do these modifications in the BIOS settings:
>
> |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
> | Setting | Feature | Required modifications |
> | Boot Options | Boot Mode | 1. Set the default to **Legacy BIOS boot** (to disable UEFI) 2. Reboot |
> | UEFI Advanced Options | 1. Disable the UEFI 2. Reboot 3. Go to **Storage Options** 4. Disable **UEFI Array Options** 5. Reboot |
> | BIOS/Platform Configuration | System Options - USB Options | 1. Set USB 3.0 mode to **Disabled** 2. Reboot |
> | BIOS/Platform Configuration | Process Options (Located in **System Configuration** -\> **BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU)** -\> **Processor Options**) | 1. Set HT to **Disabled** 2. Set Processor X2APIC Support to **Disabled** 3. Reboot |
> | BIOS/Platform Configuration | Boot Time Optimizations | 1. Set Dynamic Power Capping function to **Disabled** 2. Reboot |
>
> > **Notes**:
> > * If you see a black screen in the KVM / iLO remote video (example: on HP ProLiant DL360 G9), go into [ROM Based Setup Utility (RBSU)](http://h17007.www1.hpe.com/docs/iss/proliant_uefi/UEFI_Gen9_121417/v36631751.html) - **Advanced Options** - **Video Options** and change the setting of the embedded video connection from **auto** to **always on**.
> >
> > * If the RAID array exceeds 2TB, it might not be recognized when you install Gaia OS R77.30. If this occurs, partition the disks as explained in [sk61081](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk61081).
> > This note is applicable to R77.30, R80, and R80.10 versions.
> > This note is **not** relevant to Management Server versions R80.20 M1 and higher.
> > This note is **not** relevant to Security Gateway / Standalone versions R80.20 and higher.
>
> 2. Follow the instructions in [sk98760 - Prerequisites for installing Security Management Server / Multi-Domain Security Management Server on Red Hat Enterprise Linux](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk98760).
>
> 3. It was found that BIOS version P89 v2.60 and higher, which was not certified by HCL, causes the Open Server not to reboot (warm reboot). There are two possible solutions and a workaround to this issue:
>
> **Possible Solutions:**
>
> * Downgrade the BIOS version (to P89 v1.21).
> * The issue should not occur in Gaia OS with kernel 3.10 (R80.30 3.10, R80.40 and higher). If it does occur, it is necessary to downgrade the BIOS.
>
> **Workaround:**
>
> Hard reboot the Server, or perform a power cycle in the iLO.
