## Solution

### Background

Check Point's Identity Agent gets and reports identities to the Check Point Identity Awareness Security Gateway. The administrator configures the Identity Agents (not the end-users). There are three types of Identity Agents: **Full** , **Light** , and **Custom**.

All Identity Agents are supported on Windows 10.

Starting in R75.40, all Identity Agents are backward compatible with all Check Point Gateways.

* ^(\*\*)^ For Security Gateway R80.10, the "Identity Agent - Light" is natively available from the Captive Portal. For earlier versions (for example, R77.x), an additional Hotfix is required. In R80.10, there is one installation package, which identifies the currently installed OS and executes the applicable package on the PC. (ID 01680690).

### Installation Instructions {#Installation instructions}

1. Download the Identity Agent to the Windows 10 computer. See [sk134312](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk134312) for the newest Identity Agent.
2. Right-click on the Identity Agent package, click on **Run as administrator**and follow the instructions on the screen.

### Uninstall Instructions

1. Go to **Start menu** - go to **Control Panel** - click on **Programs and Features**.
2. Select the **Check Point Identity Agent** - click on the **Uninstall**button - follow the instructions on the screen.

### Limitations {#Limitations}

* The Identity Agent in this article operates **only** with Security Gateways R76 and above.
