# sk106784 - Backup to FTP server via WEBUI fails with error message "file transfer failed, failed to connect to server"

## Symptoms

- * Backup to FTP server via WEBUI fails with error message "file transfer failed, failed to connect to server".
* Connectivity to FTP server works.
* Backup via CLISH to FTP works.

## Cause

Whe configuring a backup to an external FTP server, the user needs to input the "Upload Path".

If the user inputs any path that does not exist on the FTP server, the backup will fail.
