## Symptoms

- * "`The policy refers to objects that don't exist`" warning after modifying SmartEvent policy:

* An exception object may be shown as an Invalid reference:

* Installing Event Policy may fail with a validation error.

* Resetting the DBSync on SmartEvent Server does not resolve the issue.

## Cause

The file *$FWDIR/conf/sem_user_modified_detection_policies.C* on SmartEvent Server contains references to objects that no longer exist on Security Management Server / Domain Management Server.
