## Symptoms

- * New logs from Security Gateway do not appear in SmartView Tracker.

* Physical connectivity between the involved Security Gateway and Security Management Server works correctly (both sides are able to ping each other.)

* Output of "*netstat -nap \| grep 257* " command on the involved Security Gateway shows that log connection on TCP port 257 is in state *SYN_SENT* or *TIME_WAIT*.

* Restarting the Security Gateway / Security Management Server does not help.

## Cause

Possible reasons:

1. Security Management Server was migrated from a StandAlone machine. The topology configuration in the Security Management Server's object interferes with log connection from Security Gateway.
2. Another Firewall that is located between the Check Point Security Gateway and Check Point Security Management block traffic on TCP port 257.
