# sk105764 - Network Interface Cards that uses the IXGBE driver do not work on Open Server after updating the driver to version 3.9.15

## Symptoms

- * The output of 'ifconfig -a' does not show interfaces that uses IXGBE driver.

* */var/log/dmesg* file contains the following lines:

  ```
  
  ixgbe [BUS-ID]: failed to load because an unsupported SFP+ module type was detected.
  ixgbe [BUS-ID]: Reload the driver after installing a supported module.
  ```

## Cause

SFP modules being used are not supported by the Network Adapter. The IXGBE driver performs a validation of the SFP module in conjunction with the Network Adapter if they meet the specifications of the manufacturer.
