# sk105757 - Contract or license error: "Contract entitlement check failed"/ "Contract is expired"/ "License is expired" during policy installation

## Symptoms

- Errors for contracts or licenses, that can be displayed in a pop-up during / after / while installing the policy:  

* Contract entitlement check failed.
* Contract is expired.
* License is invalid / license is expired.

## Cause

Corrupted cache files for contracts or licenses, due to renewal, changes on the licenses, etc.

**Note:** "Contract entitlement check failed" error can also occur due to connectivity, so first need to troubleshoot as per [sk97587](http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/solutions?id=sk97587).
