# sk105567 - When a user logged into preboot on several machines is locked out of one machine, other machines reboot

## Symptoms

- * When a user logged into preboot on several machines is locked out of one machine, other machines also reboot. No error message is displayed on the machines' GUI.
* In cpda.log of the machines, see following error message:  
  "The current preboot user has been either removed, locked, expired or not authorized to logon so Windows will reboot now!"

## Cause

**Deployment:**

Several machines with Endpoint Security Client installed and FDE enabled:

1. Pre-boot enabled

2. Machine encrypted/unencrypted

**Root Cause**

If same user is logged in to preboot of several machines and then that user is locked out on one machine, e.g. for too many attempts to login, he is also locked out on the other machines.

The other machines are rebooted in order to force a change of user credentials.

SmartEndpoint displays which users are locked out.
