## Symptoms

- Some spam e-mails pass through the Security Gateway R75 - R77 even when the Anti-Spam blade is enabled.

## Cause

In versions R77 and lower:

1. MTA is not supported on Anti-Spam blade.
2. Anti-Spam blade does not support any kind of e-mail encryption (STARTTLS, SSL/TLS).

## Solution

Starting in [R77.10](http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/solutions?id=sk97617), the Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) feature for Anti-Spam blade was added - Check Point Security Gateway takes the role of the Exchange Server, and, therefore, is able to decrypt the encrypted e-mails.

Check Point recommends to always upgrade to the most recent version ([upgrade Security Gateway](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doShowproductpage&productTab=downloads&product=73) / [upgrade VSX](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doShowproductpage&productTab=downloads&product=359) / [upgrade Security Management Server](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doShowproductpage&productTab=downloads&product=184) / [upgrade Multi-Domain Security Management Server](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doShowproductpage&productTab=downloads&product=166)).
