# sk104782 - Communication issues from Security Gateway to Security Management Server

## Symptoms

- * No logs from the Security Gateway are seen in SmartView Tracker / SmartLog.

* Sometimes, log "`Error-65000: Error: unknown host name <MANAGEMENT>`" in seen in SmartView Tracker / SmartLog.

* Authentication on the Security Gateway is possible with password, but not with certificate.

* Communication from Security Management Server to Security Gateway, such as policy installation, Smart Update, or SmartView Monitor is working correctly.

* No communication from Security Gateway to Security Management Server, such as policy fetch.

## Cause

Wrong network or routing settings on OS level of Security Gateway, and/or a wrong topology configuration of Security Gateway object in SmartDashboard. For example, after migration from StandAlone to Distributed environment.
