# sk104098 - New static route added in Gaia Portal / Gaia Clish is missing

## Symptoms

- * Outputs of Expert commands "`route -nv`" / "`netstat -nr`" do not show the new static route that was added in Gaia Portal / Gaia Clish.

* Output of Clish command "`show route`" does not show any route after a new static route is added in Gaia Portal / Gaia Clish.

* */var/log/messages* file shows that RouteD process restarts constantly:

  ```
  
  routed[PID]: parse: routed0.conf:M Next hop for static route W.X.Y.Z/N can not be an address assigned to a local interface at 'end-of-statement'
  routed[PID]: parse_parse: 1 parse error 
  routed[PID]: Exit routed[PID] version routed...
  ```

* Error while adding router-id: Routed is down. Please restart it before attempting to change the Router ID

## Cause

The RouteD process stops working because the next hop IP address for the static route *W.X.Y.Z/N* is assigned to a local interface or one of the Virtual IPs (clusterXL).
