# sk104012 - VPN Clients running on Mac OS X that receive an Office Mode IP address from a DHCP Server, do not supply hostname for DHCP "Discover" packet when connecting over VPN

## Symptoms

- * VPN clients running on Mac OS X that receive an Office Mode IP address from a DHCP Server, do not supply hostname for DHCP "Discover" packet when connecting over VPN.

* VPN clients running on Windows OS that receive an Office Mode IP address from a DHCP Server, correctly supply hostname for DHCP "Discover" packet when connecting over VPN.

* *om_extended_dhcp_params* parameter has been enabled (refer to [sk41453](http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/solutions?id=sk41453)).

* Traffic capture confirms that the hostname is not supplied in the DHCP "Discover" packet.

## Cause

This is a limitation of the Mac OS X.
