# sk103945 - "No license on server" error when connecting with SmartEvent GUI

## Symptoms

- * "`No license on server`" error when connecting with SmartEvent GUI, although the Next Generation SmartEvent (CPSB-SME) license is correctly installed on SmartEvent server.

* Contract File is installed on SmartEvent server and properly reflects current dates.

## Cause

The SmartEvent server has not properly recognized the SmartEvent license and Contract File after they were installed.

## Solution

Restart the SmartEvent services on the SmartEvent server:

`# evstop`

`# evstart`
