## Symptoms

- SmartLog display logs out of order in slow log rate environment

## Cause

Smartlog indexes are mapped to log files. Every index belongs to a single log file. single log files may have several indexes.

When searching indexes, the indexes that belong to the latest log file are searched first.

On systems where the log rate is very slow, the log file might be a few weeks old. In such a case, a scheduled retrieval of logs from modules may create a newer log file that will take precedence over fw.log (the real time log file).
