# sk102166 - FWM and CPSM processes are down on Security Management Server after downgrade from R77.xx to R75.47.

## Symptoms

- FWM and CPSM processes are down on Security Management Server after downgrade from R77.xx to R76 / R75.xx
*Example* :

1. Security Management Server was upgraded in the following way:  
   R75.40 -\> R75.47 -\> R77 -\> R77.20
2. Security Management Server was downgraded in the following way:  
   R77.20 -\> R77 -\> R75.47

## Cause

During the downgrade the Check Point Registry entries are not updated with the relevant paths to required DLL files:

* During the upgrade to R77.xx the required DLL files are registered using the Check Point environment variable `%FWDIR%`, which expands to the new version "R77" (e.g., `C:\Windows\FW1\R77\FW1\lib\FwmCommands.dll`).
* After downgrade, the "`R77`" folder does not exist anymore. As a result, the required DLL files can not be loaded.
