## Symptoms

- The following error appears when trying to establish SIC in SmartDashboard with a Security Gateway:

Unable to establish SIC 
internal ssl authentication error got alert. 
bad certificate may be a clock synchronization issue
```

## Cause

Date, Time or Time Zone is out of sync with that of the Security Management Server / Multi-Domain Security Management Server.

## Solution

Verify that the Date / Time / Time Zone is correct on both the Security Gateway and Security Management Server / Multi-Domain Security Management Server.
